Rotten Tomatoes gives My One And Only 70% or fresh. I beg to differ; I thought it was WEAK. Granted, seeing it on the plane may have impacted my view. However, I found Zellweger generally unconvincing as a Southern gentlelady and overall rather annoying. Given that she’s the star of the movie, that’s a problem. I don’t dislike Zellweger. I enjoyed Jerry Maguire as much as the next person. However, the fake or real Southern accent and breathy way of speaking was killing me. The plot – Zellweger looking for a husband to take care of her and figuring out how to take care of herself – is mildly entertaining but definitely not a barnburner.
