vocabulary size

According to this, my English vocabulary size is 30325.

You are Shakespeare! You can even create new words that will expand the English dictionary.
How about you?  I’m guessing most of my friends will get a similar result.  My husband informs me that I don’t speak like a normal person.  He says he’s used to it.  Anybody else get accused of this?

You’re an order of magnitude better than me. I got 29,100 or top 0.31%. Still got the “You are Shakespeare! You can even create new words that will expand the English dictionary.”

I probably didn’t do as well as you because I really don’t like Shakespeare very much 🙂

Also, my husband says the same thing, but he says its mostly NASA lingo like talking about “contingency plans” or using the word “nominal” in every day conversation… Also he says that I am highly specific sometimes in my word choice and he can tell it bothers me when people think I am being more general than I am…

It’s weird to me that everyone I know got approximately 30,000. I mean, you’d think there would be more spread. Are we all clones? Or is it a bad test? Or are people who got 25K embarrassed to share?

I got 29900+ some change. Top .13%. It really bothers me when there is a word that means specifically what I want to say and I can’t recall it. I actually get hung up on that sometimes in meetings, unfortunately.

Also the ladies I’m FB friends with from my twin moms group are all getting 22-25K. That seems a logically different population sampling.
